A German church says its pastor presided over the wedding between Robert
Redford and his German partner.

Renate Massfeller, of the St. Catherine Church in Hamburg, said Wednesday that Pastor Frank Engelbrecht presided over the ceremony Saturday between the 71-year-old U.S. actor and artist Sibylle Szaggars at the luxury Louis C. Jacob Hotel.

The Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper said 30 friends and family members attended the service.

The 51-year-old Szaggars is an abstract artist whose work has been exhibited in Britain, Germany, the United States and elsewhere. She moved to Sundance, Utah — where Redford's Sundance Institute is based — in the 1990s.

A message seeking comment from Redford's publicist in New York was not immediately returned.

I have a bit of chub I could do without.
I'm planning on joining a gym soon, but for now, I recently got tattooed, and I want to avoid sweating too much while it's healing.
In the meantime, would it be beneficial for me to walk ~1 mile in the evening as often as I can? Or would it not really make a difference?

If you don't know/care:
How far do you drive typically in a day?
What is your favorite kind of stuff to put into a salad?
What was your most recent FML-moment?

The King of Pop dominates the Nielsen SoundScan and Billboard charts yet again.

Based on preliminary sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Michael Jackson's catalog of solo albums sold a mighty 1.1 million copies in the U.S. in the tracking week that ended at the close of business on Sunday (July 12).

That's a jump of 37% stacked next to the previous week, when his combined albums sold just shy of 800,000. In just the past two and a half weeks, American consumers have purchased more than 2.3 million Jackson albums.

Actress Dakota Fanning is seen on the set of her new movie The Runaways in Los Angeles. No sign today of Kristen Stewart.

In the scene shown in these photos, she was acting as a baker in a cupcake shop. Poor Dakota is looking quite overheated in these photos due to the high temperatures in Los Angeles.
Dakota looks old... )

She looks like a Silverstone/Winslet lovechild and definetly too old for her age...

‘Sense and Sensibility’ gets ‘Zombies’ treatment

At midnight, the folks at Quirk — who brought you the best-selling Jane Austen mashup Pride and Prejudice and Zombies — announced that they’re back with the next book in the series, Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, which goes on sale Sept. 15 (complete with 15 illustrations — we’ve brought you two of them — and a readers’ discussion guide). Quirk editor Jason Rekulak, the creator of the series (”I just thought it would be really funny to desecrate a classic work of literature”) recently said that he didn’t want to go out there “with the one-millionth vampire novel that’s going to be published this year.” P&P&Z’s Seth Grahame Smith did not write this sequel, since he recently left the franchise and signed a hefty contract with Grand Central for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I talked to the series’ new author, Ben H. Winters, last week.

Barely Legal: The 10 Hottest ’90s Babies

For those of us old enough to remember, the ’90s were a decade of ups, downs, and in-betweens (heeeey Macarena!): grunge rock, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, and two or three dozen classic rap albums, plus Titanic and the rebirth of the disaster flick. Then there was that whole ruckus about a blow job, the rise of the soccer MILFs, and oh yeah, the introduction of the Internet to normal people. But the best parts of the ’90s have just recently become legal enough for us to stare at shamelessly—that is, the lovely ladies born in (the very, very early part of) the decade. With the gazzilionth installment of the Harry Potter franchise popping off this week (starring “class” of 1990’s Emma Watson), you don’t have to be a dirty uncle Dumblemore to check out our Countdown of the 10 Hottest (Legal!) ’90s Babies. And just so we’re clear, all of these women were born in 1990 or 1991, making them 18 or 19. Don’t blame Complex, we don’t make the laws…

The working title of the album is “The Singles Collection“. We’re led to believe that this may not be the final title.

Sony Music have now officially added the release to SKU systems in Australia with a RRP of $29.95
The release will be a double disc collection of her hits from the past 10 years
“The Singles Collection” will contain more of Blackout and Circus tracks, than any of her previous albums. We’re assuming that the first disc will be focused solely on anything released before Blackout.
There WILL be new tracks on the album. We’re not hearing the 6 new tracks as we previously heard, however we are being told that a single will be released from it – Radar is not getting released locally.
The date is tentative on the SKU system of October 23rd 2009 – and will be released in Australia to coincide with her Australian leg of the Circus tour. We’re also guessing the new single will be released at this time as well.

Radcliffe Eyes Up Potter Props

Daniel Radcliffe is determined to get his hands on a special memento from the set of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - a police poster featuring his face.
The 19 year old is currently filming the final wizard movie, which will be split into two parts and released in 2010 and 2011.
And despite strict security surrounding the props onset, Radcliffe has his eye on landing a keepsake.
He says, “On the seventh film there are wanted posters with Harry Potter on them... with my face. I’d love one of them. I think it would be great. I’d love to have it up somewhere. I’ll steal one. They aren’t going to fine me.”
But Radcliffe isn't bothered about taking home a wand that he's used as the boy wizard - because the teen is sure he would break it.
He adds, "You know what? I’ve broken so many of them that I’d probably end up breaking the one I take. I think it is safer not to.”

Hermione casts biggest spell on 'Potter' fans

Emma Watson's swotty character Hermione Granger has been named as the most beloved character in the Harry Potter franchise, according to a new poll.

Fans of the wizard tales voted the bushy-haired academic as their favourite member of the Harry Potter gang.

And Potter devotees are adamant the 19 year old actress will have the most successful career after the films come to an end in 2011.

Some 51 per cent believed Watson would enjoy a more lucrative future than her co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, with 39 per cent insisting she'd become a sex symbol.

Watson has already proved a hit on the fashion circuit, landing modelling jobs with high-class design house Burberry.

I belong to a forum dedicated to the hobby of raising chickens, and one of the sticky topics is how to recognize a fertile egg vs. a non-fertile one before you eat it.

I guess there is no (or very little) difference in the flavor, but I noticed there were several posts from non-vegan vegetarians who said it was important to them to know if an egg had been fertilized, because they would discard it if it had been. I guess that's the "moment it becomes meat" or something like that.

I had never thought about it before. What do the non-vegan vegetarians on TQC think?

Example pictures and today's biology lesson under the cut. :P )
